Turmeric & Lemon Tea; an easy recipe to fight inflammation and flush out toxins.
Turmeric is a brightly coloured wonder spice. Hailing from India and part of the ginger family, turmeric is a powerful antioxidant that is known to fight cancer causing free radicals and also inflammation. Fighting inflammation in the body is important because where disease is found, inflammation is found as well, so taking easy and delicious steps to help stabilise the body seems like an easy and fantastic idea.
This anti-inflammation and detoxing concoction is extremely easy to make and is a great way to get turmeric into your life! As we know lemons provide a great dose of Vitamin C as well as antioxidants, and turmeric helps to flush out the kidneys and liver amongst other things. The potent spice can improve skin, as it hydrates and nourishes the skin making it appear more youthful, and it will regulate your metabolism if weight loss is on your wish list.
This recipe is very easy and can be done to taste- squeeze as much lemon as your heart desires just making sure a teaspoon or at least half a teaspoon of turmeric makes it into the cup of boiled water. Honey or agave can be added to taste for your level of desired sweetness.
1 Cup boiling water
1 Teaspoon of Turmeric (or half if you prefer)
Manuka Honey or Agave to taste
* Note- the turmeric will fall to the bottom of the cup so give it a stir as you drink it.
