Caroline is a southern belle living in London, taking the opportunity to document her way around Europe’s most fabulous cities, and beyond. After a glamourous trip to Florence, our Belle de Jour took the time to show us what was in her Italian diary, and what she took along for the ride. So without further adieu here is what we discovered.

Belle in Florence : Weekend Getaway Guide

STAY
Villa Cora : This 19th century classic Italian villa will surely get you in the Florentine mood! Firenze in location, Toscana in spirit.

Soprarno Suites : Each suite is uniquely decorated with individualized themes, some even with claw foot tubs–swooon! And bonus, steps away from Ponte Vecchio.

EAT
Locale : Set inside a converted Palazzo, the decor of this hot spot is breathtaking. Two musts: truffle ravioli and chocolate desert.

la Menagere : a jack of all trades classic Firenze spot perfect for lunch, dinner, or even coffee breaks! it is a must see, in my opinion.. read more here

SHOP
Via de’ Tornabuoni : Seriously, this is shopping heaven. call it Rodeo Drive of Florence.

San Lorenzo Market : the best bargain market, especially for leather.

Prada Outlet : Yes, you read that right. About 20-30km south of Florence is the designer outlets where you can nab sample stock or end of season pieces at half the price (gasp!). The Mall is another strip mall of designer brands nearby.

“Fashion in Florence is the real deal which is why I love these classic Italian-esque pieces found at  Suite Hazen” – Caroline

IN THE SUITECASE

The Alighieri Black Onyx ring and necklace are influenced by Dante Alighieri, who called Florence home. His famous poem The Divine Comedy was the inspiration behind these stunning pieces, including the darkness of the onyx and imperfections of the stone.

The Mr Boho Cat Eye sunglasses  of course, because cat eye sunnies scream Italy to me! Must be all those old Hollywood classics set in Italy.

The giant cotton scarf is the perfect day to night accessory–I love how a simple piece like this can carry you through museum wanderings by day and swanky dinners by night.

If you’re anything like me and you don’t even think of leaving home without your camera, lipstick, hairbrush, maybe a spare set of ballet flats..then you need this Pony Hair Tote and Clutch. It’s perfect for carrying all your necessities and then converting to a clutch for a night out!
